Taylor A. Greene Writing Contest A Project of English

Who Was Taylor Greene?

Taylor A. Greene, daughter of Sue and Walter Greene, was born and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut, the baby of a family with three older brothers. From a young age she showed an interest in reading and writing. This love for words continued until her death.

She was a cheerleader, singer, lacrosse player, young astronaut, friend, mentor and mother to all that needed her. She loved to cook (and often hosted Sunday dinners for friends), especially with her two best friends, twin sisters. She became the third "twin."

Blue Devil Blue!

Her love for CCSU began when she attended the graduation of her godfather, Dwight Washington, in 1999. She decided then that she, too, wanted to be a Blue Devil! She completed her BA degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing in December of 2017. That same month she got engaged to the love of her life, her high school sweetheart Nick Briganti.

Taylor had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. While attending CCSU, she grew to love editing and writing and found she had a real ability to coach other students and to help them raise their prose to another level. She had a way of making individuals feel challenged, enthusiastic and valuable. Taylor was full of joy, a joy that we should all try to carry on.

The Taylor A. Greene High School Prose Writing Scholarship is in her memory.

With love,

Suzanne and Walter Greene
